The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) is a parish-based organization. Corpus Christi Parish had an SVDP affiliate which helped people within the parish boundaries or even outside. They kept their own bank account for the donations they received because they are an independent organization.

Because Holy Rosary Shrine is not a parish and does not have a territory, the former Corpus Christi SVDP has been combined with the group at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish. However, service to the poor is an important part of the mission of a shrine. Therefore, we are beginning a fund called Holy Rosary Shrine Outreach to set aside donations for those in need.

This money will be part of the regular Shrine bank account but designated for this particular purpose. In the future, our second collection in January for SVDP will be changed to one for HRS Outreach.
